Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has declared himself the best candidate to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in the 2027 governorship election.
Hamzat made the declaration while speaking about his political ambition and the forthcoming governorship contest in the state.
The deputy governor, who has served alongside Sanwo-Olu since 2019, expressed confidence in his experience and understanding of the administration’s policies and programmes.
He also highlighted his involvement in the governance of Lagos and his knowledge of the state’s development priorities as factors supporting his ambition.
Hamzat is expected to face competition from other politicians seeking the governorship position ahead of the 2027 election.
