Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, is expected to swear in Murtala Sule Garo as the new Deputy Governor of the state today, Tuesday, in a ceremony scheduled to take place at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano.
The announcement was made through a statement issued by the governor’s Special Adviser on Information, Ibrahim Adam, who disclosed that the event would begin by 11:00 am.
The state government invited political stakeholders, party supporters, and residents to witness the occasion, describing it as an important moment in Kano’s political leadership.
A close ally of Garo, Aminu Ahmed, also confirmed that preparations had been concluded for the inauguration ceremony and that invitations had already been extended to party loyalists and members of the public.
The appointment comes after the resignation of former Deputy Governor Aminu Gwarzo, which followed the political realignment that saw Governor Yusuf leave the New Nigeria People’s Party and join the All Progressives Congress.
While Yusuf moved to the APC, Gwarzo stayed loyal to former Kano governor Rabiu Kwankwaso before later aligning with the African Democratic Congress alongside him.
