Mrs. Adenike Abolanle Oshinowo is a highly experienced legal practitioner, legislative expert, and public administrator with over 20 years of service in the Lagos State Public Service. She currently serves as the Clerk of the Lagos State House of Assembly, a position she assumed on April 28, 2026.
Born in Lagos State, Mrs. Oshinowo has built a reputation for professionalism, discipline, and a strong commitment to good governance and institutional development. Her career has been defined by steady growth, technical excellence, and deep involvement in legislative processes.
She obtained her LL.B from Lagos State University and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995 after completing her training at the Nigerian Law School. She later earned a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Legislative Drafting from the Nigerian Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of Lagos Campus.

Mrs. Oshinowo began her career in private legal practice, working with respected law firms before joining the Lagos State Civil Service in 1997 as a Legal Draftsman. She later transitioned fully into public service, where she developed strong expertise in legislative drafting and legal administration.
Her years of service in the Lagos State House of Assembly saw her rise through several ranks due to her consistency and performance. She served in key legal and administrative roles, including State Counsel, Principal State Counsel, and later held senior positions within the Ministry of Justice, where she contributed to public prosecutions and legal advisory services.
In 2008, she returned to the House of Assembly and became deeply involved in legislative drafting and legal services. Over the years, she was promoted through various leadership positions, including Chief State Counsel, Assistant Director, Deputy Director, and Deputy Clerk, before her appointment as Clerk of the House in 2026.
Mrs. Oshinowo is widely respected for her expertise in lawmaking processes, policy development, and institutional governance. She has played an important role in shaping legislative frameworks that support governance and public administration in Lagos State.

She is a member of several professional bodies, including the Nigerian Bar Association, International Bar Association, African Bar Association, and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria.
Her professional development includes participation in training programmes and conferences across Africa, Europe, North America, and Australia. She has also attended executive education programmes at the University of Cambridge, further strengthening her leadership and governance expertise.
In recognition of her service, she has received several awards, including a Long Service Award from the Lagos State House of Assembly and an Honorary Citizenship Award from the City of Austin, Texas, USA.
Mrs. Oshinowo is fluent in English and Yoruba, and is known for her strong communication skills, attention to detail, and passion for continuous learning. Outside work, she enjoys reading and legal research.
She is married with children.
