Lere Olayinka Reacts as Old Video of Fubara Criticising Wike Resurfaces After APC Primary Withdrawal
Following Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s announcement of his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries in Rivers State, fresh political reactions have emerged, including commentary from allies of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Media aide to the minister, Lere Olayinka, reacted by sharing an old video clip in which Governor Fubara was seen making critical remarks about his political rival.
The resurfaced footage came shortly after Fubara announced that his decision to step down from the primaries was motivated by the need to promote peace and stability in Rivers State, rather than weakness or political pressure.

In a series of social media posts, Olayinka claimed that the governor’s political structure had weakened significantly, alleging that he currently has little or no control over key elective positions within the state’s political landscape.
He further argued that political influence in Rivers State remains firmly consolidated under the FCT Minister, suggesting that Fubara’s camp lacks representation at different levels of government, including legislative and local government positions.

Olayinka also referenced the old video where Fubara allegedly compared Wike’s public outbursts to a barking dog, using it to highlight past tensions between both political figures.

The development adds another layer to the ongoing political rivalry in Rivers State, which has continued to attract public attention amid shifting alliances and internal party dynamics.
