SHETTIMA VISITS MAIDUGURI, CONDOLES ARMY, BORNO OVER FRESH ATTACK

Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday made an unannounced visit to Maiduguri to sympathise with the Nigerian Army and the Borno State government following a recent terrorist attack that led to the death of Brigadier General Oseni Braimah and several soldiers.

Representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Shettima expressed deep grief over the loss, describing the fallen officers as heroes who paid the ultimate price in the line of duty. He said their sacrifice highlights the heavy cost involved in protecting the nation.

While addressing troops and government officials, the Vice President honoured the bravery and commitment of the deceased soldiers, noting that their service and dedication would always be remembered.

He also reassured the military of the Federal Government’s continued backing in the fight against insurgency and other security challenges, emphasising that the administration remains determined to restore peace and stability across the country.

Shettima further conveyed the President’s directive to security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking down those responsible for the attack, assuring that the perpetrators would be brought to justice.

He reiterated the government’s stance that criminals would not find safe haven under the current administration.
