President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has met with businessman Femi Otedola during a private dinner in Paris, France, as the President concluded his extended working vacation in Europe.
Otedola disclosed the meeting on Tuesday, September 29, sharing a photograph of himself with Tinubu from the dinner held the previous evening.
In his remarks, the businessman expressed support for the e
conomic policies of the Tinubu administration, saying the reforms were contributing to changes in the Nigerian economy.
He highlighted developments including the inclusion of Nigerian companies in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, gains recorded on the Nigerian Exchange, increased foreign direct investment and greater stability in the foreign exchange market.
Otedola also pointed to Nigeria’s foreign reserves, which he said stood at about $55 billion, while describing the developments as signs of renewed confidence in the economy.
The meeting took place during Tinubu’s stay in France, where he had also held engagements with French President Emmanuel Macron and business leaders.
Tinubu had left Nigeria on August 30 for a working vacation, spending time in London before travelling to Paris. He subsequently concluded the trip and departed France for Nigeria on Tuesday.
