The meeting, held in Beijing, was described by Trump as highly productive, with the US president claiming that both sides reached “fantastic trade deals” across multiple sectors, including agriculture, aviation, artificial intelligence, and energy.

According to Trump, the agreements are expected to benefit both countries, although specific details of the deals were not publicly disclosed at the end of the summit.

Chinese President Xi Jinping described the visit as a “milestone” and said the two countries had agreed to strengthen what he called a “constructive strategic stability” in their bilateral relationship.

One of the key highlights of Trump’s remarks was an alleged Chinese commitment to assist in easing tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route affected by Middle East conflicts.

Trump also claimed Xi expressed willingness to help ensure the waterway remains open and to support efforts toward stability in the region, although China’s official statements only called for broader ceasefire and peace efforts.

The summit also touched on sensitive geopolitical issues, including Taiwan, with Chinese state media reporting that Xi warned the US against missteps that could escalate tensions between both nations.

US officials later reiterated that Washington’s policy on Taiwan remains unchanged.

On trade, Trump said China had agreed to purchase around 200 Boeing aircraft, alongside increased interest in US oil and agricultural products such as soybeans, though these claims were not officially confirmed by Beijing.

Discussions also reportedly covered emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, with both sides acknowledging the need for dialogue on safeguards and “guardrails” for global AI development.

Despite the warm tone of the meeting, no formal joint agreement document was released, and several key issues remain unresolved.

The summit concluded with both leaders expressing cautious optimism about future cooperation between the world’s two largest economies.
