Community sources report the assailants surrounded the mosque and forcibly took the captives into forests near the Gohori axis of Tsafe, leaving the community in fear and underscoring the challenges facing peace efforts in the North-West.
Meanwhile, Operation Fasin Yamma (OPFY) troops countered multiple terrorist attacks across Katsina, Kebbi, and Zamfara States. In Katsina, 17 Brigade troops ambushed terrorists near Gatakawa village, recovering a motorcycle and phone. In Danmusa, soldiers repelled an attack on NSCDC operatives, though one officer succumbed to gunshot wounds. In Kebbi, 8 Division Garrison troops engaged terrorists in Ungushi village, Kebbe LGA, forcing them to flee, with an injured civilian treated at Kebbe General Hospital.
