Father Collapses and Dies at Son’s Funeral in Heartbreaking Double Tragedy

A family is devastated by the loss of both Norman ‘Nosha’ White, 61, and his son David Beilicki, 41, after Norman suffered a suspected heart attack and died during David’s funeral. David, from Middlesbrough, who had long battled drug addiction, was found dead on a relative’s sofa on July 31, ten years to the day after the memorial for his stillborn twin sons, Karson and Deacon.

The funeral took place on August 21 at St Bede’s Chapel, where Norman collapsed as David’s coffin was brought in. Paramedics evacuated the chapel and rushed Norman to the hospital, but he passed away soon after. His sister accompanied him, while the family continued the service, later receiving the heartbreaking news of Norman’s death. Chantelle Beilicki, David’s sister, called the events surreal, saying, “You couldn’t script something this tragic.”

David, father to Ethan and nine-year-old Jaxon, had been making strides in his recovery, though his cause of death is still under investigation. Chantelle, a 42-year-old mother of four, described David as having “a heart as big as the ocean” and deeply loved. Norman, a father of seven and a respected boxing coach, had no known heart issues, leading Chantelle to believe he “died of a broken heart” from overwhelming grief.

The losses have left a void in the family and community. Chantelle expressed gratitude to Rose Funerals for their compassionate support during the ordeal. Norman’s funeral is scheduled for September 18 at 1:30 p.m. at St Hilda’s Chapel, Teesside Crematorium.
