Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) repelled coordinated midnight attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters on military bases in Dikwa, Mafa, Gajibo, and Katarko in Borno and Yobe between midnight and 4 a.m. on Thursday. Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, media officer for the joint task force, reported that the troops inflicted “heavy and decisive losses,” killing over 50 terrorists, with several others wounded and fleeing.

The operations recovered 38 AK-47 rifles, seven PKT machine guns, five RPG tubes, two GPMGs, hand grenades, and thousands of rounds of ammunition. Air strikes, supported by intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance assets, provided cover for ground troops. Some soldiers sustained injuries but are stable, while a few buildings and vehicles were burnt due to drone and RPG fire in Dikwa and Mafa.

The military high command praised the troops’ gallantry and resilience, reaffirming their commitment to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
