The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has approved disciplinary actions against 31 Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) officers following a review by its Disciplinary and General-purpose Committee on July 11, 2025.

According to a statement by ACI Akinsola Akinlabi, NIS Public Relations Officer, eight officers were dismissed for serious misconduct, five were compulsorily retired, and eight were demoted by one rank. Another five received written warnings.
The Board also rejected two dismissal appeals, reinstated one officer after a successful appeal, and fully exonerated two others.

Separately, two junior officers, Aliyu Usman and Chukwu Nancy Ngozi were dismissed for criminal conspiracy involving theft, illegal firearm possession, and kidnapping.
Under the leadership of Interior Minister and CDCFIB Chairman Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and NIS Comptroller-General KN Nandap, the Service reaffirmed its commitment to upholding discipline, professionalism, and due process in all personnel matters.
