Prince William’s University Friend Ben Duncan Dies After 100ft Fall From London Hotel

Ben Duncan, a former university friend of Prince William and Princess Kate, has tragically died after falling from the rooftop bar of London’s Trafalgar St. James Hotel.

The 45-year-old socialite, who studied at St Andrews University alongside the royal couple, reportedly fell seven floors late on Thursday night. Police and paramedics were called to the scene around 11 p.m., but despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Officers responded to reports of a man on the roof of a building in Cockspur Street, Westminster. The man sadly fell from height and was pronounced dead at the scene. His death is being treated as unexpected but non-suspicious.”

London Ambulance Service confirmed they dispatched multiple units, including a trauma team, but were unable to save him.

Broadcaster Mike Hollingsworth paid tribute on Facebook, describing Duncan as “Peter Pan — the boy who never grew up,” adding that he would be remembered for his “wit, laughter, and sense of style.”

Duncan, who became known to the public through his appearance on Big Brother in 2010, was part of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s circle during their university days. He was among the first to know about their budding romance, later recalling how the couple was quietly allowed to develop their relationship away from attention.

After graduating, Duncan featured in several British TV shows, including Come Dine With Me, Ladette to Lady, and Celebrity Coach Trip.

He is remembered fondly by friends and colleagues across media and entertainment.
