A U.S. missionary, Mike Arnold, has alleged that the United States Air Force has been mobilized and military satellites are actively tracking terrorist movements across Nigeria.
Arnold made the claim in a post on X (formerly Twitter) late Monday, following former U.S. President Donald Trump’s declaration of Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern.”

He stated that preparations for possible U.S. military intervention are already in motion, hinting at a large-scale operation.
> “I’m hearing gossip. Gears are turning. I think we may see real action — Air Force mobilized, possibly Marines. Satellites tracking the terrorists,” Arnold wrote.
He further questioned whether President Bola Tinubu’s reported trip to South Africa was a “summit or escape plan,” suggesting that the U.S. may act soon due to continued attacks on Christians in Nigeria.

Trump’s declaration reportedly followed weeks of lobbying from U.S. lawmakers such as Senator Ted Cruz and Representative Nancy Mace, who had called for sanctions on Nigerian officials accused of enforcing religious laws and promoting persecution.

While the Pentagon has not confirmed any military deployment, Arnold’s post has fueled growing speculation that the U.S. could be considering direct involvement in Nigeria’s internal security crisis.
The Nigerian government has yet to issue a formal response to either Arnold’s claims or Trump’s designation, though Tinubu’s trip abroad has stirred public debate about the country’s next diplomatic move.
Observers are now awaiting official statements from both Washington and Abuja on what could become a major international security development.
