President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has addressed growing concerns over terrorism and insecurity in Nigeria, assuring citizens that his government is working closely with international partners to tackle the threat.
Speaking before the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Thursday, Tinubu said:

> “We are engaging the world diplomatically, and we assure all Nigerians that we will defeat terrorism.”
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, promising to overcome the nation’s economic and security challenges.
> “The task ahead is immense. But we are resolved to move forward with unity and purpose, to defeat terrorism and build a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Nigeria,” he added.

Tinubu also noted that the recent oversubscription of Nigeria’s Eurobond reflects global confidence in the country’s economy despite political and security concerns.
“Despite the political headwinds and fears, our partners have continued to engage with confidence,” he stated

His remarks follow U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to deploy military action in Nigeria if attacks on Christians persist. Reports from The New York Times suggest that the U.S. military has drawn up contingency plans for potential intervention under Trump’s directive.
The Tinubu administration, however, maintains that it will address insecurity through diplomatic engagement and strategic collaboration with global allies.
