According to the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mua’zu, the intelligence-driven mission targeted the hideout of notorious bandit leader Kamilu Chiroma, also known as Buzaru.

The rescued individuals included 16 women, two men, and three babies, kidnapped from Gidan Sarkin Bayero Village in Musawa LGA and surrounding areas. Among them, 20 were Christians and two were Muslims, highlighting the indiscriminate nature of banditry in the state.

Mua’zu emphasized that the four arrested suspects are currently under investigation and assured the public that they would face the full weight of the law. He further reiterated Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s commitment to ending banditry and restoring peace across Katsina State.

The state government also commended the DSS, Army, Police, and Community Watch Corps for their professionalism, courage, and effective collaboration during the operation.
