Tope Fasua has advised Nigerians to adjust their lifestyles and spending habits in line with their earnings amid the country’s current economic challenges.

Speaking during a members-only Coffee Hangout organised by Kay Hikers Club in Abuja, Fasua said citizens must learn to manage available resources wisely as the cost of living continues to rise.

His comments came while responding to concerns raised by a female participant who criticised worsening economic conditions, insecurity, and the increasing prices of food and other essential items. She argued that many Nigerians were struggling to afford basic necessities due to declining purchasing power.

In response, Fasua admitted that inflation and rising prices had affected households across the country but insisted that families could still survive through careful spending and better financial discipline.

According to him, a modest household could still use ₦10,000 to buy food items capable of lasting several days if resources are properly managed. He encouraged Nigerians to focus more on purchasing foodstuff directly from local markets and preparing meals at home rather than engaging in unnecessary spending.

Fasua also stated that government alone could not satisfy every public expectation, adding that citizens must adapt to current economic realities instead of expecting immediate solutions to all challenges.
His remarks have since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians debating whether ₦10,000 is enough to feed an average family for one week under the present economic situation.
