The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Ishaq Oloyede, is set to step down from his position after serving for 10 years.
The Minister of State for Education, Suwaiba Said Ahmad, disclosed this on Monday during the 2026 Policy Meeting on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja.
According to the minister, the 2026 policy meeting would be the final one to be supervised by Oloyede as JAMB registrar.

She praised his contributions to the education sector, stating that his leadership had significantly transformed the examination body over the past decade.
“This is the last policy meeting you will be holding,” Ahmad said while addressing Oloyede during the event.
She added that his tenure had “fundamentally changed the institution,” noting that JAMB witnessed major reforms and improvements under his administration.
Oloyede was appointed JAMB registrar in 2016 and has since overseen several changes in the conduct of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), admissions processes, and the introduction of technology-driven reforms aimed at improving transparency and efficiency in Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
