United States President Donald Trump has stated that Israel’s existence and continued strength have been heavily supported by the United States, insisting that his administration played a significant role in advancing the country’s interests.

Trump made the remarks during the G7 summit in France amid renewed debate over developments in the Middle East and efforts to maintain regional stability.
His comments came as tensions emerged over the implementation of a recently announced agreement aimed at reducing hostilities across multiple fronts in the region, including Lebanon and key maritime routes.
While diplomatic efforts have focused on de-escalation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintained that Israeli forces would remain in designated security areas in Lebanon for as long as necessary to protect national security interests.

Trump expressed frustration over actions he believes could complicate ongoing peace efforts, arguing that the prolonged conflict has resulted in significant loss of life and has continued for longer than necessary.

The US president criticized the scale of some military operations, stressing the need to minimize civilian casualties during security missions. He suggested that regional actors could play a greater role in addressing security challenges involving Hezbollah.
Trump also highlighted what he described as his strong support for Israel during his time in office, claiming that previous administrations were unwilling to take some of the measures his government implemented in support of the country.

Despite acknowledging his long-standing relationship with Netanyahu, Trump called on the Israeli leader to exercise greater responsibility regarding operations in Lebanon and broader regional security issues.
According to Trump, bringing an end to long-running conflicts would strengthen ongoing diplomatic initiatives and contribute to lasting peace and stability in the Middle East.
