A member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly representing Sakwa Constituency, Mohammad Wanzam, has died.
His death was announced by the Speaker of the House, Abubakar Sulaiman, who said the lawmaker passed away in the early hours of Sunday in Bauchi.
In a condolence statement, the Speaker described the late legislator as a dedicated public servant who contributed significantly to his constituency and the state through his legislative duties.
The funeral prayer for the deceased was held at the Gwallaga Juma’at Mosque in Bauchi, where prayers were offered for his soul and forgiveness.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed also expressed sadness over the loss, describing Wanzam as a humble and committed lawmaker who played an important role in legislative oversight, particularly in budget and appropriation matters.
He noted that the late legislator’s contributions to governance and public service would be remembered, and urged citizens to honour his legacy of dedication and selflessness.
