TINUBU STRENGTHENED SECURITY IN KANO WITH NEW ARMY FORMATIONS – KWANKWASO

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, has praised President Bola Tinubu for establishing two new military formations in Kano State to strengthen security and tackle emerging threats.

The formations comprise the 24 Battalion, deployed to Tudun Wada, and the 311 Artillery Regiment, stationed in Dambatta.

Kwankwaso, in a statement issued on Saturday, described the deployments as a response to growing security challenges, including banditry, terrorism and other violent crimes affecting Kano and neighbouring communities.

He said the new military units would improve the armed forces’ capacity to respond to security threats and complement existing security structures across the state.

The APC chieftain also commended National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Minister of Defence Christopher Musa and Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle for their contributions to security efforts in the state.

According to him, Kano’s large population and economic importance make it necessary to maintain a strong security system capable of responding quickly to emerging threats.

Kwankwaso said the establishment of the formations had strengthened residents’ confidence in the Federal Government’s efforts to protect lives and property.

He further urged residents of Tudun Wada, Dambatta and surrounding communities to cooperate with military personnel and provide credible information that could assist security agencies.

He stressed that the effectiveness of the new formations would depend not only on the presence of troops but also on cooperation between security personnel and local communities.
