The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Ben Nwoye, has urged party members to remain united and prevent opposition parties from distracting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from his administration’s agenda and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Nwoye made the call while receiving members of the G-37, a group of former state chairmen of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), during a meeting at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.

He encouraged party faithful to intensify grassroots mobilisation, reconnect with supporters and strengthen public engagement, insisting that President Tinubu remains the best option to continue leading the country based on his reform agenda.
According to Nwoye, while not every party member may have benefited through political appointments, many Nigerians are already enjoying the impact of ongoing infrastructure development, particularly road projects across different parts of the country.
He cited his recent road trips through several southern states, including Enugu, Anambra, Delta, Rivers, Abia and Imo, as examples of improvements in road infrastructure, describing them as visible achievements of the current administration.

Nwoye stressed that such developmental projects should encourage APC members to take pride in the administration’s accomplishments and continue promoting its policies to Nigerians.
He also acknowledged the contributions of the party’s founding members, assuring the G-37 that their political experience and institutional knowledge remain valuable to the APC. While welcoming new members into the party, he said the sacrifices of its founders must never be overlooked.

Speaking on behalf of the G-37, Comrade Cletus Obum expressed confidence in the future of the APC, stating that the party is well-positioned to consolidate its structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

Obum praised the APC’s internal support system, noting that the party had previously provided financial assistance to its candidates during election campaigns. He expressed optimism that the party’s leadership would continue strengthening its structures and predicted that the opposition would face significant political setbacks in future elections while acknowledging the importance of an opposition in a democratic system.
