2027: TINUBU DOESN’T FORGET LOYALISTS – NWOYE

The Deputy National Chairman (South) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, has urged party members to remain united, strengthen the party’s structure, and intensify efforts to secure the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Nwoye made the appeal at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja while hosting members of the G37, a coalition of former state chairmen from the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and other founding stakeholders of the ruling party.

Speaking during the meeting, he said the party’s mission of advancing its progressive agenda is still in its early stages and encouraged members to stay committed despite the challenges encountered along the way.

According to him, the APC still has a long journey ahead in achieving its objectives, urging loyal members to remain focused on strengthening the party ahead of future elections.

Reacting to concerns over delays in political appointments for long-serving party loyalists, Nwoye appealed for patience, expressing confidence that President Tinubu recognizes the sacrifices made by those who played key roles in forming the APC through the merger of the ACN, Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP).

He acknowledged that not every dedicated member may immediately receive an appointment but stressed that their contributions remain appreciated and would not be overlooked.

Nwoye also maintained that reflecting on the party’s history and its founding legacy should not be seen as divisive, but rather as a way of preserving the values that brought its members together. He described the APC as a broad coalition built on unity and shared political ideals.

Highlighting the achievements of the current administration, he pointed to ongoing infrastructure projects across the country, including improvements to road networks in the South-East and South-South, as signs of national development.

Earlier, the leader of the G37, Comrade Cletus Obum, congratulated Nwoye on his appointment as Deputy National Chairman (South), describing him as a compassionate leader who has continued to support the families of deceased party pioneers.

Obum also called on the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to ensure that founding members receive priority consideration for statutory appointments, committee positions, and other key responsibilities within the party.

He emphasized that those who contributed to building the APC should not be sidelined, adding that the party’s future depends on how it recognizes and rewards its founding members.

The meeting ended with both the party leadership and the G37 reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the APC, promoting unity among members, and preparing for the 2027 general elections.
