The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku, has appealed to leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress in Owan West Local Government Area for forgiveness over past disagreements within the party.
The appeal was made during an enlarged APC meeting held on Friday at the residence of party leader, Lucky Ohimai, popularly known as Tarex.
Reports indicate that the reconciliation move formed part of efforts to strengthen unity within the party ahead of future political activities in the area.
Speaking at the meeting, Agbebaku said he was committed to restoring harmony and building stronger relationships with party members and stakeholders in Owan West.

He blamed previous misunderstandings within the APC on the actions of what he described as overzealous supporters and stressed that he had no intention of challenging the party leadership structure in the local government.
“I have never, and will not dispute his party leadership in Owan West. I am here to say whoever I wronged in the past, whether knowingly or unknowingly, I deeply apologise,” he said.
The speaker also reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to continue working for the progress of both the party and the people of the area.
Agbebaku further disclosed his intention to seek re-election and appealed to party members to remain united and work together for collective success.
“I want my brother, Tarex, to also know that I am in the race for re-election. I appeal to you all that we need to use this opportunity judiciously for the benefit of everybody,” he added.
