A man identified as Newton Isokpehi, who claims to be a serving police officer with 26 years of service, has sparked public outrage after appearing in a viral video where he issued violent threats against anyone who records police officers while carrying out their duties.

In the video, he warned members of the public and senior officers he believes may have authorised filming of police personnel, making statements that suggested extreme retaliation against civilians who attempt to document police activity.
The clip, which was shared on TikTok under the account name “Newton isokpehi for life” with the username #actor459, showed him in police uniform alongside other personal content. Although the specific video has since been deleted, the account remains active with previous posts still visible.

At the time of reporting, it has not been independently confirmed whether Isokpehi is an active officer of the Nigerian Police Force.
In the video, he repeatedly insisted that anyone who records him while on duty could face deadly consequences, issuing graphic threats directed at individuals and groups present during police operations. He also expressed anger at what he described as orders allowing civilians to film officers.

He further claimed to have served for 26 years in difficult conditions, alleging that police officers face poor welfare and inadequate support. In the clip, he pointed to what he described as bullet wounds on his body as evidence of his experiences in service.
Despite his strong criticism, he acknowledged that the current Inspector General of Police has begun addressing unpaid insurance and benefits owed to families of deceased officers.

The video, recorded in a direct-to-camera format and overlaid with “God bless police” text, has since gone viral across social media, drawing widespread condemnation and calls for investigation by authorities.
The Nigeria Police Force has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
